Wisconsin is playing much better football and could win their next 2 games and salvage the season...but they aren't in the Buckeyes league..

The Buckeyes clearly deserve to play in the BCS if they don't stumble against Michigan regardless of what other teams do...these guys are getting better by the weak

Purdue and Penn State are two abover average teams both will go to bowls but neither belongs playing on New Years Day

Illinois is a cut below the very best of the Big Ten but are looking like the 3rd best team in the conference.

Minnesota is more than a year away from competing for a bowl birth

Iowa is finally returning to form with hard nose playing despite injuries. But a loss to Wisconsin is going to cost them the bowl bid

Northwestern still not good enough to go bowling

Indiana will probably sneak into a bowl..with 7 wins

Michigan State's running backs and offensive line showed a tremendous amount of HEART, something Spartan teams of the past 2 coaching staffs lacked! Valiant effort after being snuffed all first half. This team could be the next "illini" in regards to turnaround if they have a QB next year.

Chad Henne is the best comeback QB Michigan has ever had period. It would be great if he had the ability to deliver knockout TD passes EARLY in the game though.

Mike Hart, please keep your mouth shut when you win with some luck ok? You are a tremendous competitor but no need for the "Little brother" comment after the game!

Lloyd Carr, there is a simple offensive plan if Hart isn't at 100%, throw DEEP to our 3 WRs to score and loosen up the defense before working delayed draws and other running plays for Minor and Brown ala the Gopher game.

Art - I disagree with you that Henne is a great comeback quarterback. Henne has a long history of never having the skills or fortitude to LEAD this team to a victory. The winning pass in the MSU game was actually a poor pass. It was well over the receiver's head. and to his inside shoulder, not the outside shouder. Did you count how many time Henne overthrew his receiver's in the numerous bomb's that he threw? Henne's biggest failing (his passing accuracy being a close second) is is lack of leadership skills. When have you seen Henne on the sidelines leading and motivating the offense. There is a reason why a four year starter at quaterback has never been a captain of the team - NO LEADERSHIP. Isn't it also surprising that, despite four years of starting and setting all these records at Michigan, until this week, Henne has NEVER been awarded a Big Ten Conference award. My prediction is that Henne will be the first Michigan quarterback since the 1980's to not land an NFL contract. Henne's original backup, Mike Guitierez even got a contract, despite getting virtually no playing time at Michigan.
The good news is, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We only have to endure Henne for a few more weeks, then we can finally get a talented quarterback with leadership capabilities. If you watched the game in which Henne was hurt and Mallet had to come in, Mallett took control of the offense and LEAD the offense. On the sidelines, he wasn't standing off by himself with his mouth clasped shut like a vice, ala Chad, Mallett was beating the shoulder pads of the offensive line and pumping them up to go back in and take control of the game.
So, it would appear that our days of poor leadership at the quarterback are almost to an end, hopefully the same can be said of the coaching. I will save my rants on Carr for another day.

      Take care.

I can't say I disagree with Rick that much. I've got a lot of issues with Henne's lack of progression after 4 years including an amazing INABILITY to take a step and avoid the rush. Mallett is already better in this regard.

However my point is I think Henne has shown an ability to increase his passing (particularly long) late in games when we are behind. Fewer blocked passes, fewer bounce to the man passes and his long passes are either caught by our guy or no one.

I agree that the MSU pass required a heck of a catch, as did many of the ones thrown to Braylon Edwards two seasons ago but I still say Henne shows pretty good composure in these situations. It is unclear why the same sense of purpose doesn't exist from the get go!
